Passengers with a handicap

No one actually is disabled, but they can soon become so, goes the saying. The Rhaetian Railway makes all effort to ensure that people with reduced mobility travel as comfortably as possible. Examples include special travel deals and direct mobility aids.

Concessions
If you are in receipt of a pension from the Swiss Federal Disability Insurance Fund, disability benefit payments or a subsidised guide dog for the blind, you can obtain a first- or second-class general season ticket at a special concessionary rate. The office (IV-Stelle) concerned will supply you with the necessary confirmation. Wheelchair users without an IV pension can obtain a concessionary-rate general season ticket on presentation of the corresponding medical certificate. And if you require additional assistance, your accompanying helper and/or guide dog can travel free of charge. The corresponding accompanying helper’s card is sufficient for this purpose.
Assistance points: The Rhaetian Railway, operating in cooperation with SBB, offers help for people with reduced mobility.

Please note
ALL passengers, including disabled persons, must be able to present a valid ticket when asked to do so. Unaccompanied persons whose disability makes them unable to use the automatic ticket machines will not be fined by the ticket inspector, but asked only to pay the corresponding normal fare.

Detailed information on the accompanying person’s card and all related questions can be obtained from the SBB Disabled Call Centre (on 0800 007 102 / +41 51 225 71 50) or by e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you!
